HE COMPOSITION OF A WINDSHIELD

Formerly made of tempered glass, windshields shattered into thousands of pieces upon impact. Modern windshields are made of laminated glass. They are made of alternating layers of glass sheets and polyvinyl butyral (PVB) making the whole thing extensible and resistant to tearing. In the event of an impact, the cohesion of the glazing is maintained.
